Poetry Retreat, "Soccer"

Hi, guys.

Just wanted to jatz on and tell everyone - I had such a great weekend, so inspiring, both with the poetry and the sports, just a right-on weekend. There's a v groovy little poetry retreat opened up out in the Bay Islands, so I just took a little barge out there, little car ferry, out to the Bay Islands, met up with my PG (Poetry Guru), Dove Glog, and we just jazzed, out in amongst the trees. Of course, I wrote down a few ASPs - here's one I whittled onto the back of a piece of bark from a squiggly gum, as the sun burned across the water, and the cry of the bush-stone curlew echoed out from the mangrove flats, like the sound of a baby, or a small fire engine.

Kind of topical, I think - sort of about the, start of the Premier League, and also, about, Burma.

Best be off - drop a line if you're keen on details for, the retreat. I'd be just happy to give them to you.

Jatz,
JC

  2. Hi Jive,
Great space. I am new to the ASP business, I heard about you through the Brisbane Writers Festival and was wondering if you do requests? I would like you to help me write a poem for my soccer coach Lorna. Lorna is a really good coach. I would like to give the poem to her at training next week. I thought I would tell you a little bit about her to help you. First of all she is English, so she has an accent. Her skills are really developed and she never calls off training! Well sometimes, if it's raining!!! Can you help?

Jatz for the comm. I'll see what I can do - can mos def do an ASP for Lorna (already thinking, probs will be called LORNA), but can't make any guarantees about the content. The acrostic will probs go where the acrostic wants to go.

    Will post soon,
    Jatz,

  4. Dearest JC,

Might I draw a website to your attention in the hopes that it may inspire?

I would be particularly interested in seeing what you might make of the fine sport of Chess Boxing.

    May your jatz come true,
    shb
